Quick answers

Frequently asked.

Signing up and posting a task is free. On a completed job, Doers keep a flat 80%, the platform takes a transparent 20%, with no hidden lead fees or rising commissions. Clients only ever pay the price they agree to in the app.

We're launching with a founding Hive in Malibu and Greater Los Angeles, then expanding to New York, Miami, London, and beyond. You can request your city on our Global Expansion page to move it up the roadmap.

Tap "Post a task," describe what you need, choose a service type and timing, and optionally add a photo. Once you post, vetted Doers nearby can send you bids, usually within minutes. See the "Post a task" video above for the full flow.

Each bid shows the Doer's price, star rating, number of reviews, and a short message. Compare them side by side, read their public review history, and pick the person you're most comfortable with. Then tap "Accept & book."

Yes. You can message a Doer and counter their bid right in the app. Nothing is locked in until you both agree and you tap "Accept & book", and the price you approve is exactly what you pay.

Tap "Apply as a Doer," enter your details, choose your trade, and complete identity verification and a background check. Once you're verified, you've earned your place in the Hive: your profile goes live and you can start bidding. The "Sign up & get verified" video above walks through it.

A flat, public 80% of every completed job. On a $110 job, the 20% platform fee is $22 and you keep $88. There are no lead fees and no rising commission, the split is the same for every Doer, in every market.

Never. You don't pay to bid and you don't pay to be considered. You only ever give up the flat 20% on jobs you actually complete and get paid for.

Once you mark a job complete and the client approves it, your 80% payout is released to your account. Funds are held safely in escrow in the meantime, so payment is guaranteed the moment the client taps approve.

When a client accepts a bid, the payment is held securely in escrow, not sent to the Doer yet. It's only released when the client approves the finished work. No cash changes hands, and everything is encrypted.

Yes. Every Doer completes government-ID identity verification and a criminal background check before they're in the Hive and can bid on any job. Their ratings and reviews are public, so you always know who you're hiring.

Don't approve the payment, raise an issue in the app instead. Your funds stay held in escrow while our support team reviews the job, messages, and photos from both sides, then works toward a fair outcome: a fix, a partial release, or a full refund.

Yes. Before you accept a bid, you can edit or cancel freely from the task screen. After a bid is accepted, message your Doer first, most changes are agreed in a minute. If you cancel after acceptance, any escrowed payment is returned per the cancellation terms shown at booking.

First, check messages, most delays come with a note. If there's a true no-show, tap “Report an issue” on the job. Your payment is untouched in escrow (nothing is ever released without your approval), we re-match you with priority, and repeated no-shows remove a Doer from the platform.

Report it from the job screen within 72 hours with photos. Payment stays held while we review, and our team works with you and the Doer to make it right: a fix, a partial release, or a full refund from escrow. Serious cases are escalated to a specialist within one business day.

Yes, and it goes further here. When you approve a completed job you can add a tip, and your Doer keeps 100% of it. Every dollar. Tips are never split with the platform.

Absolutely, that's the point. From any completed job or your history, tap “Request again” to send your next task straight to a Doer you trust. Many clients build a small circle of go-to professionals this way.

Identity checks usually clear within minutes; background checks typically complete in 1–3 business days. You can see your status anytime under Profile → Verification. If it's been longer than 5 business days, contact support and we'll chase it for you.

The moment a client approves the job, your 80%, plus any tip in full, is released from escrow to your linked bank account. Standard transfers arrive in 1–2 business days. You'll see every payout itemized under Earnings.

Doers are independent professionals, so taxes aren't withheld from payouts. If your earnings meet the IRS reporting threshold, we issue the required 1099 form each January, and your full earnings history is exportable anytime. For specific advice, talk to a tax professional.

Life happens, message the client as early as possible and cancel from the job screen. The escrowed payment returns to the client automatically. Occasional, well-communicated cancellations are understood; repeated or last-minute ones affect your standing, because reliability is the reputation.

Reviews come only from real, completed jobs, no drive-by ratings. They build the profile clients see, and consistently strong work earns repeat requests by name. One imperfect review won't sink you; a pattern is what matters, in both directions.

1) Don't approve the job, unapproved payment never leaves escrow. 2) Tap “Report an issue” and tell us what happened, with photos if useful. 3) The Doer gets a chance to make it right, most issues end here, fixed. 4) If it isn't resolved, our team reviews and settles it, which can mean a partial or full refund from escrow. You are never chasing money that's already gone, that's the design.

Yes. Card details are handled by a PCI-compliant payment processor, we never store your full card number on our servers. Escrow means funds sit safely between both parties, released only on your approval.

Every job and conversation has a “Report” option, use it for anything from unprofessional behavior to safety concerns. Reports go to a human on our trust team, urgent safety issues are prioritized immediately, and blocking someone ensures you're never matched again. If anyone is in danger, call 911 first.

Reset your password from the sign-in screen in under a minute. Locked out or changing your email? Contact support with the account details you have and we'll verify you securely. Want your data deleted? Request it from Settings → Privacy, we honor deletion requests in line with California privacy law (CCPA).

No questions match your search. Try different words, or contact support.
